One serious man-stopper. It is hard to imaging a more perfect fighting handgun than a 6 shot .357 revolver in about 4" barrel. I would prefer the 4" over your fine revolver....looks to be just about 3".

Use ear protection......one shot inside an enclosed space (like a car or a small room/hallway) will give permenant hearing damage. For this reason I suggest 38 Spl perhasp +P for home defense loads.

When out on the street fighting for your life....the 357 will be o.k. just remember the pressure levels the cartridge produces....can take your hearing away....short and long term hearing.

I hear what you are saying.....

I know a lot of 60, 70 and 80 year olds....that can't hear because of tractors, hot rods, WWII/Korean War piston fighters.....and pistol shooting without hearing protection.

It is a function of exposure..... occurances x magintude.

Every man needs a .357 S&W revolver. I want a model 66 w/ 2 or 4 inch barrel, I have two 649s currently. This is what I want.

very nice!!! :applause_

I'm considering getting in on a group buy for one of these...$110 out the door. It's a Russian Mosin Nagant N1895 Revolver chambered in 7.62

It'd be a neat piece of history to own...

That's the pistol where the cylinder moves forward and "seals" to the barrel, correct? Making it the only suppressible revolver...

Well, sorry to spoil your S&W fun but I'm a RUGER guy.

Chamered in .44-Mag but one day I'd like to get a .357 for my collection.

I've never seen a 2" barrel ported. Did you buy it like that, or have it done aftermarket?

Congrats on the S&W, a 3" barrel is a good compromise. I have a Model 65 with a 4" barrel, always wanted a more compact .357. Does Taurus have a .357 with a 3" barrel?

Nagant revolvers are pretty neat. Ammo is a bit scarce/pricey, but if you're into reloading, you can load your own using .32-20 brass. Or if you're a masochist (like me), you can form your own full length cases out of .223 brass, swaged down with a .30 Carbine die & trimmed to length.

Trigger pulls tend to be pretty heavy, and you remove the entire cylinder to load the weapon.

Yes, they're definitely neat bits of history. There are single & double action versions of this revolver, as well as a target version with big grips, different sights, and maybe a slicked up action.

Yup...it came w/ the ported barrel from the factory. You could order the gun with or without porting. Not sure if Tauri made a 3" Model...VD51
